Taken during a recent 3 day backpacking trip in the Glen Canyon Recreation Area. One of my favorites from this amazing area. D600, 24-85, cpl, 1/40, f11. Comments, questions, and suggestions welcome. :wavey:

What a great looking place to visit Scott and a nice comp. Seems to be a bit of blue/cyan in the trees and rock. I'm not familiar with sandstone areas but I wonder if you could get more sat and contrast in the rocks. But a very nice scene you've put together.

Scott, this came out really nice. The only thing I might do is use the color picker and select the cyan in the very URHC. I can also see it in the tree trunks and leaves too. I'd pull that way down on saturation to see if it can be eliminated.

The composition works very well and I enjoy the warm light you've caught under the "bridge" and in the water too. Nice to see a seemingly "new" location as near as I can recall.

Thanks for the comments. Agree with the suggestions re the blues/cyans. Here's a quick repost with the blues/cyans substantially removed. :wavey:

It seems like it has a bit of tilt to it, maybe a bit of CW rotation?
A very nice scene.

On my Macbook Pro with retina and Chrome browser the blue/cyan isn't really that noticeable to me Scott. I like both posts. The comp is excellent and the light on the sand really makes the image. Beautiful work.

Scott, I like your composition with the glowing reflection in the river.

I am glad to see someone else taking this amazing trip. It is not the easiest Place to take pictures,
with the drastic variation of the contrast.

The re-post looks good Scott, but it looks like you lost some saturation and the scene got a bit brighter. Maybe a compromise between the two?

I really like this view with the sweet light reflecting on the water, a well though out comp, and the window in the canyon wall is beautifully captured in this image.

Thanks for sharing this, Scott; I haven't been to this area but maybe next year. The desat of cyans in the repost looks good. Looking for other possible suggestions… I think you could get away with a little more contrast, and maybe a little selective dodging/burning to emphasize that nice subtle on the underside of the bridge. Nice image!

This is gorgeous. The warm reflection, cottonwoods leaning toward the arch, fall colors on the other side. Everything about this is beautiful and subtle. Well done.

Scott, the cyan removal is excellent. As a couple others have stated, maybe an overall contrast / sat addition to bring back some of what was lost. I do prefer the second post much better even as is, so I would think adjustments should be slight for regaining some original punch.
Excellent comp here to work with IMO....

Scott, I admire a macro guy from Ohio, finding such wonderful compositions from my neck of the woods. I love this shot , very unique location and a wonderfully unique image. The repost with some added pop would be outstanding. Really great work. :toast: :toast:

Nice job on this. I too was there a couple weeks ago, but just could not seem to get the light right. Great job.

Do feel there is a little too much Cyan in the whites of the rocks though... :)

Excellent composition. Somehow, you've captured a sense of motion in the rock wall that gives this image a timeless feel to it.

What a great find -- not only the landscape, but also your timing to get this light that enhances everything in the scene. Really good to see how you improve it with each new version. One of the best things about NPN -- making excellent images even better.
