Photographed at the Sugar Grove nature center in central Ill. Late afternoon cloudy to partly sunny light. I watched this nuthatch for awhile, but had little luck keeping the feeder out of the photo. Should have used a monopod. Crop at least 50%.

Nice portrait of this guy, John. They're always fun to see at feeders. Nice pose typical of the species with nice sharp feather detail and color. Your little camera did well. I might be tempted to remove the stem just above the bird. Looks wet on the feeder. Were you shooting in the rain?

John: A very nice image of this nuthatch. Nice pose. I like the shape of the leaf and stem above the bird mimicking the shape of the back of the bird. I'm sure you planned it that way :toast:

Nice pose from this Nuthatch John. Although I was torn at first, I also like the curved stem above.
