Fall at the Falls

This was shot at Mechanics Falls at Short Springs State Wild area near Tullahoma, TN. I am here visiting some friends for a few days. I have shot this falls several times and besides the water flow over the falls was way down. So I decided to experiment some. I have a 7 stop ND filter which I had not had a chance to use so I started to play around with it. This was shot with the 7 stop filter and a polerizar. It was an interesting morning. I had been shooting for a while when a lady came and set up a video camera and walked out in the water in front of the falls and did a video of herself. I was getting close to being done, so it didn't bother me a lot. Thanks for you comments and critiques.

Dreamy, Richard. This looks nice. The dark lower left corner and the bright leaves near center bugs me a bit, but those are minor. I like the coolness of the cascade and the warmth of the leave. Well done.

Richard, I like the colour and softness. Maybe a .5 of a degree shift to the right to level the top of the falls? :toast:

My kind of image Richard. Great atmosphere and a really fine composition. Love the leaves and the water treatment. No suggestions - perfect for me as posted.

Glad you decided to experiment, Richard. I thought the "dreaminess" of this image must have been from some Orton-like processing, but now I see it must be a result of the long exposure. Great idea, pretty scene, and well done presentation.

This is very dreamy. It looks like it was done with a lens from the 1800's, very soft focus look.

Great colours and nice composition. I would like to see something sharp in the image, the blur is a little too much - was your filter misty?

I nicely captured image with an idea that was well executed Richard. I really enjoy the warm golds and browns in this capture, and the water looks beautiful!!!

The blurred FG is fine for me, but I wish the mossy wall was sharp. The water flow looks very nice.
