Swedish fall

Hi all,
this was taken in September in Fulufjallet NP (Dalarna, Sweden).
It's a sort of personal interpretation of the landscape I was admiring, the idea is to associate different parts of different trees (the trunk in the fg and the colored leaves in the bg) playing with on focus - out of focus.

Eos 5D MkII, 200mm, f/4, 1/50 sec, ISO 50, tripod and cable release.

I like this a lot. While the out-of-focus foreground and the way the limbs are cut off at the sides is a little troubling, I still find this eye-catching.

I like this, Riccardo. The trunks in the foreground have interesting shapes and textures and the oof colors in the background are well placed. I could possible see some dodging of the darker trunks, but this is fine as presented.

Sweet image Riccardo. I really like playing with focus as a means to showcase the primary subject matter. I think that the trend towards getting entire images to be perfectly focused through focus-stacking and PP methods really misses the opportunities inherent in the camera as a tool for artistic expression.

I might make a minor crop from the top to eliminate the bit of blue sky and some of the tree foliage but excellent as presented nonetheless. :toast:

The shape and textures of the trees is what makes the image. The background is out of focus enough to not detract from the main subject.

I like this effect here as it really showcases the tree forms, Riccardo. Nice to see a different take on things. Well done. Chet

This image is really eye-catching! As has been said, the use of dof and those stunning trunks really make it.

I really like your thought process on this image, Riccardo. I like the placement of the trees and the way the shapes of those in focus mimic those OOF in the BG. Beautiful work.
