Woman At Bridge REPOST

This young woman was with others but took a break to step aside and look into the woods across the pedestrian bridge. Washington Park Arboretum, Seattle.

Terrible light and a quick hand-held shot led me to try some artistic applications. I'd be pleased to know what you think. Thanks.

I think its a nice scene and looks great. Makes you wonder what she is thinking or who she might be waiting for.

The lightness in front of her head really leads the eyes into her silhouette.

I might try to lighten the tree on the right. I like that its dark, but I think a little lighter would be fine.

Also the orange above left of her head feels strange. It was probably something that I could understand before the treatment, but now I just don't know what it is and I probably shouldn't be thinking about that at all. If that makes sense... :)

I think this works well, Catherine, it sure looks like an Impressionist painting. The light and shadow behind her give a fine sense of daylight and her seemingly wistful look into the distance creates a strong emotion. I could see dodging the tree on the right a bit and maybe cropping from the bottom to about halfway to her feet as continued experiments.

Thanks for the comments. I reworked the image, never suspecting that I could get that much detail into the tree.
@ Jeff: the orange in upper left is a couple of tree trunks in strong light.
@ Mark: tried the suggested crop, but didn't favor it. Glad for the suggestion, though.

Catherine, the added details in the darker areas (especially the tree and the foreground) are fine improvements and the added interest in the foreground makes my earlier suggestion of a crop moot.
