Autumn at Split Rock
by Nick Bristol
I spent last week in norther Minnesota and along the north shore of Lake Superior. I made this picture of Split Rock Lighthouse and the shoreline in the early morning not long after sunrise. It had a warm and inviting feel for me and I quite enjoyed being there. I had a nice visit with another photographer there after we had finished shooting. My wife was along on this trip (I'm usually alone) which made it even more enjoyable. Thanks for looking. I included a larger version for a better look.

John, This was the best color I have seen there as well. I was a bit later this year getting there and it worked out quite nice. The inland color was past but the shoreline was nice.
Mark, I just can't quite decide if it would be better with a little more shadow detail. I'll try that and see what I think but I like it quite a bit as is right now. Might make it better so I'll give it a try. Thanks much guys! Nick
