Here's another from my archive. I decided on the pano crop so as to concentrate the view on the central aspens and the dried iris plants.

The image is from near Bishop Creek in the Sierra.

Nice scene Preston and I particularly like the base of the Aspens.
Not sure on the 50/50 comp, but not sure what else was available.

The crop works for me, and the dried inis is a good lead into the aspens, beautiful detail in the grasses, and you gotta love the yellows. Beautiful autumn scene Preston.

WOW, I had to do a double take here, Preston. I thought I had this figured out as one from the Tioga Pass area. Just had that look from one of the many aspen groves throughout that area.

Fine looking scene and no nits or ideas from my POV........nice work.

I like the color and contrast between the foreground color and the color in the trees. I think maybe a crop off some of the foreground would make the image stronger.

Preston, I like the yellow of the aspens set against the straw colored grasses and especially the tonality of the iris clumps. The textural shift in contrast between the grass and the leaves works well also. If there's more room on the right, I could see using the entire iris clump in the lrc and the one behind to add a subtle touch of a dynamic eye movement, but this is fine as presented.

Just fine as presented, I generally don't have a problem with 50/50 comps if there is sufficient interest in each half.

I think the comp works well here as the dried grasses are as interesting as the aspens. Love the tones and colors.

Excellent fall scenery, Preston. I like the mood conveyed by this image. I like the scene as presented, but think you can take off a bit of the top to make this a 40/60 image.

Nice fall scene. I especially like the simplicity of the comp separated by the similar colors and textures of the top compared to the bottom. Very effective.

I love the contrast between grasses and trees.
Do you have the possibility to try a "different crop" with a different between trees and grasses?
Noce shot however.
