Clark's grebe

I had the opportunity to observe a family of Clark's grebes for a couple of hours in the afternoon last weekend. After a while the grebes grew accustomed to my presence and continued preening/feeding. This image was made close to sunset.

840mm, ISO640, 1/1250s@F/8, tripod.

Gorgeous image! Love the colors throughout, both on the bird and in the water. Very sharp and the flying water droplets are a great addition. Seems odd not to see much of it's wings.

The nice low profile as well as the color palette make this a special shot. The water is beautiful with the reflection. Flying water drops show the action very well.

Beautiful capture Govind ! I like the overall warm colors. The water is gorgeous and as everybody said, the droplets is a plus !

Govind, the shape of this grebe is pretty darn cool... no appendages! It looks torpedo-like, which lends itself to the bit of action on display here.
