Hello Everyone! :wavey:

Here is a recent image I captured of a Cloudless Sulphur butterfly that had stopped to perch on a yellow Zinnia. These are very active butterflies, and I am glad to have managed to get a shot before it sped off.

Thanks for looking, and comments/critiques are appreciated.

Cheers to you. :toast:

Did you visit Howard's zinnia/BF garden to get this, Charles? Well composed. The flower and BF really stand out well against the clean bg. No nits. I'd be real happy with this image. :toast:

Charles, this is a fine look at this bf, with excellent clarity in both the bf and the flower. To my eyes (and it might be my eyes early in the morning waiting for my coffee to kick in) everything looks just a touch soft, which has me wondering if you applied any sharpening to the final image.

Charles: Congrats on getting a shot and such a good one. I literally have one shot of a sulphur in many years of trying because they seem to be in perpetual motion. 2 thumbs up! >=))>

Charles:

Congrat on getting image on this flirty BF. Like Mark said, the image is a touch soft; don't think this is due to HH a long lens with a SS at 1/1250.

Gentlemen,

Thanks for the comments! Scott, I have seen Howard's photos, and to even be thought of any where near his realm means a lot to me! Bill, thank you sir! I was very happy to have gotten the BF with the complimentary colors. Mark and Gary, I guess I see where the sharpness could be better, but I am very happy with this result. I'm seeing good details in the BF. My biggest gripe is the OOF foreground of the flower.

Charles, Pretty butterfly and perch, simple and clean image. Despite the minor nit on the sharpness, a nice catch of an active butterfly.
