Snake River Overlook - Grand Tetons National Park, WY

This was made about an hour after my last image from this overlook and the sun is behind the mountains. The pov is also about thirty yards farther south. If you pixel peep there are six elk crossing the river. At this point I had the overlook pretty much to myself.

Nikon D800
Zeiss 100 mm Macro
LR, NIK Silver Efex, PS, TK's actions

Comments and suggestions welcome.

It is a beautiful and dramatic scene, but the noise is a killer. I don't know if that was your intent, but I believe this is so good that several looks at it in SEP would be a good thing to do.

Thanks Phil I appreciate it. I'm pretty tolerant of noise. There's only about 5% cropped away in this and I shot it at ISO 100. The noise I see is in the clouds and became a little more pronounced coming out of Silver Efex.

I'll be glad to look at this in SEP if you'll tell me what it is. (smile)

Pat: Just spectacular! Most everything in the Tetons is classically a morning shoot so good for you to stick around the icon for a different take. Marvelous capture of a marvelous moment.>=))>

Love the mood, drama and tonal range here.
Image quality looks fine to me at this size.

This is a grand image, Pat. The light is wonderful and B&W conversion suits this perfectly. The large version is spectacular. :toast:

Nice to see no vehicles in the road.

Thanks for the comments you all.

Govind,
If you're referring to the feature in the middle of the image just right of center, I think it's a small stream. I was going to clone it out but when I pixel peeped on it, I decided it was a stream. I'm still not sure though. (smile) You're right though, if it is a road I'm glad there were no cars on it.

This is a beauty, Pat. Awesome drama with the sky and I love the range of tones along with the details in this excellent B&W. Great image!
