We rescued Oscar the 'Chiweenie' about a month ago. (He's 18 months old).
He was an abused dog and very timid/shy. You can see his favorite stuffed rabbit in the background, and a piece of "ABC" gum in his mouth I tossed in the yard..
This last week he's finally warmed up to me, jumps right up in my lap

Very nice portrait Howard. Black dogs are difficult to shoot but you got this one just right. It's always nice to hear about rescue stories with a happy ending also

Awww! Oscar is a very sweet-looking dog, Howard! I'm glad to hear you've found a new canine member of your family after losing your longtime companion. Nice capture that hints at a fun, kind personality. Can't say I've heard of Chiweenies before, though! Must be pretty close to the other end of the spectrum from our two Saints and one Newfoundland!
