Lost in Snow

Another one from my trip to Zion last Fall. The winter storm that hit around Thanksgiving was forecasted to drop about 6 inches of snow overnight, but wading through it the next day it seemed more like a foot. I followed this group of Bighorn for awhile, watching them paw through the snow to get at foliage underneath, and when I saw these females stop and look at me in perfect unison I scrambled to get off a shot before they moved on.

The male seems to have an eye on you as well. Lovely scene, with or without the Bighorns.

Thomas, nice shot depicting the bighorn sheep in their environment. I think the snow around the two females is a little blown out almost like a selective dodge was used around them because I see this light strip right up the middle of the photo and both sides seem more naturally exposed? Not a big nit either way. It is necessary to get the detail in the females. If that is the case though maybe you might want to try working the original again to keep a little more detail in the snow. :toast:

I love the feel of this scene, with the soft snow in the air softening the background. Ideally, to my eye, you would have aimed the camera slightly more to our right to keep the right side sheep a little further from the edge of the frame.

This is simply stunning, Thomas. My kind of image.
Good point raised by Lon above.

Thanks so much for the comments. Lon and Morkel, luckily I cropped in a bit from the right so I can experiment with more space on that side.
