Open-bill stork

An open-bill stork at sun down on the Kaveri river in Tamil Nadu (South India). I took this image on a trip to India last year - had to crawl on the dry river bed to get close and a good angle.

This is a common stork in much of India. They have a small gap between their mandibles which they use to catch and break into molluscs.

I like the sunset light on the stork and its surrounding area. And very good detail considering the lighting. Well captured. :toast:

The thumbnail does not show this at its best, I thought it looked too dark, but it is in fact great light.
Fabulous detail, I might take some from the bottom :toast: :toast:

Nice low angle shot. Beautiful lighting. A tad bit too dark on my screen.
