My wife Kayla with Eli, Reina and little Jake during one of our many hikes on Thompson Pass, Alaska. The intent with this shot was to provide a sense of scale, context and presence rather than doing a closeup portrait.

Sony a6000, ISO-100, f11.0, 1/250

Like being on top of the world Gary! Sense of scale and context successfully conveyed. Such a brilliant day, nice interesting sky, the reflecting pools - and the way you've positioned the family where the clouds have let the light through, set against a darker foreground is very effective.... :toast:

Gary, I remember an image of the dogs from a location like this. I like the "big picture" view and especially the sky reflections in the two pools. Keeping the "human presence" small does make this seem like a forbidding landscape.

You did an outstanding job with regards to "scale, context and presence" Gary.
I like the 'gangs' position in the frame and that great sky too..
The light/shadow works well, nice sense of depth & spotlit effect :toast: :toast:
