Hi everyone! It's been a while since I posted an "animal-scape" type image, so here goes. This is a Mule Deer buck that we found just 5 minutes from our house. We had been trying all summer to get pictures of deer in the bright canola fields, and finally managed to find some last month! There were lots of does to photograph when we would visit (pictures to come), but the bucks weren't to be seen. The bucks usually kept their distance, which offered some unique scenes with the mountains behind.

I'm posting this in Man & Nature because you can see an old barn and some other man-made things in the background.

I look forward to hearing what you guys think of this one!

Thank y'all for lookin'! :wavey:

I sort of like the hazy look of it, and the yellow-green canola field. The Buck is fine as small in frame, but I wish it had been more to the right.

I like the colors and comp of the image. The only nit would be to have the deer on the right because the angle of its head would appear to be looking more into the frame.

The darker sharper muley buck stands out well in the green field. The bright clouds are attention grabbers to me and could see a pano crop instead. That the buck is on the left does not bother me as it it seems he is looking back over and to the right.
