Semi Abstract

Hi all.

A Semi-abstract shot of a dahlia in my yard. I used my 60mm micro for this, and I think I was laying on the ground to shoot it.

Any and all thoughts appreciated. Does it work for you on any level?

Thanks!

Nathan

Excellent abstract, Nathan. Works for me. I thought this was Ram's, and I wish it were mine! :toast:

Nathan - Very nice and you are on the right track. I like all that fuzzy melted petal edges.

A few pointers :

1. Go closer. Set your magnification to about 0.8 or so and then get something in focus and try not to come below 0.8 or so. Go higher.
2. Latch onto something in focus --> usually the edge or the mid rib of the petal.
3. F/5.6 is the lowest you should try. Below that you will not win most of the times. That is assuming you are working at high enough magnification.
