Last fall, a rare event occurred at the Grand Canyon where an inversion filled the canyon with fog for a few days. Coronado Butte is being surrounded as the bank moves into the canyon from the east.

Doug, the cloud bank surrounding the butte is great and the touch of extra color in the sky makes a fine addition. It's also neat getting a glimpse through the cloud of the lower slopes, that view adds a lot of impact to the larger version.

Thanks for the comments. Is the color fine with you, or possibly just a little too blue?
Carol, this was taken with a Nikon D600, 70-300 @ 78mm, f/8, 1/2 sec, ISO 100.
