Nice colors in this image. IMHO the BG shows the subject very well. The butterfly's head looks a bit soft. Thanks for sharing. Have not seen many monarchs around so far.

Barb - I posted on your more recent shot first. On this one you have another really nice composition. However, I find the background to not be as "supportive" as it could. A vignette would definitely help bring more of the attention to the flower & butterfly. I would concentrate the vignette mostly on the lower left and upper right portions, but still darken the other two corners somewhat.

I have seen very few monarchs this year. I'm glad that you have done well with this capture. Pretty sharp and contrasty. I like those orange tones and green background :toast: ......................Jim
