Jumping Waxwing

Winter before last, a group of Cedar Waxwings stuck around. This is one individual from that group, trying to get the rose-hips off my neighbours plant. Fun to watch!

I was looking over the fence between our yards, so the POV is a bit high.

Slight crop, 70-300mm lens @ 300mm, ISO 400, 1/1600 at f/6.3 +2/3EV

Wonderful action capture Karen! Great details, love the pose.
The POV may be a bit high, but the action along with the head turn more than makes up for it.
Well done! :toast: :toast:

Nicely done Karen. Love the contrast between the bright reds and cinnamon and the stark whites. Great balance and composition and amazing feets. Cool.

With all the other strengths of this image, I doubt I'd have paid much attention to the vantage point if you hadn't mentioned it. Really nice capture. :toast:

Love the action here Karen and especially the high key nature of the image with such great details in the bird. The pov works well.

Fine Waxwing with great timing on your part, Karen. I like you composition and focal point very much.

Best,
