Love the comp Ronald. I particularly like the detail in the sand and the ball rock. The fg rock is a touch soft but not a deal breaker for me. Very fine composition.

Ronald I like this a whole lot, It reminds me of Anil Rao's work, and that's a compliment. Beautiful in every way, excellent light and detail, a real pleasure to view.

Pat - Yes, although I usually prefer everything in focus in such photos, this time I chose to leave the foreground rock out of focus. You're making me wonder if that was a mistake.

Ronald,

I tend to dislike fg blur but in this case it's not blur, just not as sharp. I could make an argument that it makes the ball and actual subject seem sharper by context. It's really not a problem.

I love the composition. The out of focus area is a little distracting because I find my eye trying see sharp detail there. You could try burning that area down some so that the focus of the image is on the odd shaped boulder and the saddle to its left. Nice detail and color in the rest of the image.

The OOF isn't an issue for me--the barnacles are a bit disruptive though. An interesting shot! :wavey:
