W

These 2 elephant seals in Northern Ca. seem to form a W.
Although, to me, they look like they are in the traditional "lover's embrace" pose.
These young males are practicing, almost non-stop, for their future bouts at mating time.
As these seals are huge and can be quite dangerous, you must view them from very far away. But, their trumpeting is haunting in the ephemeral fog.
I hope, you don't mind a little bit of softness (from the distance). They are, also, molting, so they do have a few blemishes.

This is a fine scene, Lucy, and yes I can see the W. I don't see any problems from the distance. I do wish for some detail in the darkest areas of the seal's heads.

What a neat way to find a "W" Lucy. I can almost hear them. That touch of colour where their mouths are open really draws the viewer to where the action is!

Sorry Mark, there really isn't much detail in the seal's heads, that I don't have. These two were pretty black. But, I do have a very funny shot of one brown colored seal on the beach with molting in a perfect circle around his eye. I'll post that one next.
