Photographed this butterfly in a friends yard. Not sure what species it is, silver spot skipper? but like that I caught it feeding with its proboscis in the bloom.

The moth isn't to bad, a tad soft. There's something really funky with the flowers though. Way overdriven. How severe is the crop?

Hi John

Good details on the skipper and flower. The bright leaf in the bg does distract a little but shadow of the BF on it make this interesting.

I have to agree with John, John. While the skipper looks pretty good, the flowers are exhibiting some serious processing issues, as if a strong watercolor filter was used on the flowers. Might want to go back and reprocess this one.

Thanks for your comments. All I did to the flowers was to slightly darken the highlights, which were way over exposed. Checking the info I see that this picture was taken about noon. It is a large crop as I was trying to reduce the amount of flowers in the image. Not sure what else to do with this one.

In this repost, I darkened the flowers overall, not just the highlight areas. Also, a bit darker on the butterfly. Doubt if I can get much better considering the light and my Photoshop skills.

I like the detail, color and dof of this image. The eye of the butterfly is very sharp.
