Tree Bark

This was one big tree and was being lit by sunlight reflecting off of a lake. Talk about someone holding a reflector for me.

Silver Efex Pro used with changes in blending modes in PS and I also used simplifiers a little bit to "break the bark" before applying sharpening.

Cottonwood, I think. Looks a little chunky, but it could be the bark is worse for the bytes? :jump:

Good use of the reflected light, Ram. Excellent study of the bark. Just the right amount of contrast and plenty of texture, lines and patterns.

The texture and lines are presented well. It is probably just my personal preference, but the subject just doesn't grab me.

Ram

Nice study of lines and texture. Looks a touch oversharpened but I am guessing that this is what you intended.

Like the texture I see in the LP, with the reflected directional light accentuating the contrasty 'roughness'.
Well done Ram! :toast:

This seems to look quite a bit sharper in the small version, Ram, and I like that. Beautiful range of textures and tones and a neat composition around the small nodule.
