Thawing Lake

I had to climb over a very unstable talus deposit to reach this spot, but it was worth it. Besides this shot, I found interesting rocks and ended up shooting rock abstracts until the light failed.

Strong comp and nice light Mark. I think I see a touch of halo just to the left of the rock face but could just be my eyes or this Macbook. Other than that, I've got no nits. This might also be interesting in black and white.

I like the warm/cool color contrast. You might consider increasing the contrast in the background a bit. The exposure looks good to me.

I too like the idea of increasing the contrast (and saturation) for that far slope. I'll look forward to the abstracts!

The interplay of warm and cool colors work very nicely in this scene, Mark. My only suggestion would be to increase the contrast just a bit on the sunlit hillside. Nicely done.
