Ghost Crabs have the silliest looking eyes on the beach! This one was surprised by my flash one night.

It took me a while, but I finally figured out where both eyes are. These crabs are probably my favorite beach critter and they can be photographed during the day by sitting quietly and waiting.

They certainly do look like cartoon characters, Lucy, Those are some crazy eyes.

You sure picked an appropriate title for this image Lucy. I've seen other little "sand crabs"... but never anything as crazy as this guy. WOW!
