"Striations" Ocean Point, Boothbay, Maine

Plenty of drama in this classic Maine coast image, Eva. Good use of the lines in the foreground and stormy skies. :toast:

I like the leading-lines composition, and the B&W is working very well.

Great tones Eva. A beautiful image and well processed. Love the dramatic appeal of this scene

Gorgeous capture. All the elementents click beautifully! I didn't know you were a "Mainiac" :) I worked at Loring air force base from 1992-1994. Great country but a bit...remote for my taste. ;) Gorgeous autumns.

You break the rules a little bit with the centered horizon, but the comp is still strong with those great leading lines.

Hi Eva, I like this! The foreground rock with the lines worked great and looks great. I like how they lead you into the scene. The sky is equally nice adding up to a wonderful b&w image.

Thanks everyone for your comments.

Mark - We've have had a summer place up there for 30 yrs now. This is one of my favorite places there. You were way up there in northeastern Maine. Boothbay is quite close to civilization in the Maine sense of the word. Summers are crowded there when the population explodes from 2500 to 10's of thousands. Winters are desolate with not many stores and businesses open except for the larger grocery markets and a few restaurants.
