This Cormorant was in his full mating colors and full of confidence as he was showing off for the ladies high atop a channel marker out in he middle of the river as I came by and he gave me this nice pose. Hand held from boat, 50% of full frame.

He is quite brilliant Mike! Nice sharp image. I've never been close enough to a cormorant to see their eyes - gorgeous :toast:

The orb is so decorative, Mike.

A handsome portrait, Mike, and a great look at the emerald green eye. I like the pose against the blue BG.

Now that's an eye, Mike. Beautiful and very sharp for HH @ 500mm from a boat. WOW :toast:

I remember how striking the Cormorant's eyes were from our adventures, Mike. This view does a great job of showing off the striking emerald color and the stippling around the eye. It's also a fine pose, has a bit of "formal portrait" feeling with the bit of shoulders and the side view. Well done.
