Blue Dasher Resting

Hello,

Here is a photo I recently took of a Blue Dasher. It is perched on the tip of a dead Daylily stalk. I maxed out the aperture to get a good depth for the wings. Comments/critiques are welcomed!

Hi Charles,

The blue dasher looks nice and you were able to pull off f29 with the sky as your background. I would try to play with the Shadows and Blacks sliders to lighten up the shadows :toast: ..........................................Jim

Good job using the deep blue sky for bg and stopping down to get excellent detail, Charles.

Lovely DOF coming from that F/29. Blue sky looks wonderful and agree with Jim about some creative processing to pull some hidden details out if possible.

I go along with other comments. Charles, on the quality of the dof and the desirability of perhaps looking at the shadows. I also wonder about applying a GND filter to bring some variation to the sky ? Whatever, it's a good piece of work.

Great sharpness, excellent pose, and a lovely clear blue sky background. Well executed. As others have suggested, pulling out some more details in the darker areas, especially the eye would add nicely.

Hi Charles, Nice dragonfly against the blue sky. Good sharpness. I see some little spots in the sky, maybe due to f/29? That is really minor. Good work.
