Juvi Peregrine

Nikon D4s
1/2000
Manual Mode
F/5.6
ISO 320
600mm with no T/c
Tripod with Wimberley head
Cropped 63% (hopefully it holds up...these are both pretty small files)

Another peregrine. This might be my last peregrine post for a while. This is one of 4 juvis from this particular nest site this year. This bird was out playing around over the ocean when the wind came up and banked and turned towards me with a nice head turn and his beak open.
Not sure if mom was bringing in food to the other juvis or what but this bird seems pretty intent on something.
Thanks for having a look see. Larger image provided.

Hi David, you made my first critique easy. That's Awesome... It looks a little bright to me but it may be my monitor. The open beak makes it for me. :toast:

Steve,
Thanks for the comment. I just calibrated my monitor and I'm not sure if It's better or worse. So i'd be interested to hear if others think this is too bright. If so, I will redo the calibration. Thanks Steve.

What a great top side view. Very nice. Then to add to it the calling pose. Geez.... what else could you ask for.... oh yeah, sharp to boot. Very nice. Image brightness looks just fine to me although a quick levels adjustment with a black point adjustment of 5-10 really makes the texture in those feathers pop. Super image :toast: :toast:

A superb image, David, and it holds up to the crop very nicely at least for web presentation. You caught a fantastic pose, and the image quality is first rate. Brightness looks fine to me, though my monitor just pinged me for the monthly recalibration.

I really like this one! I like how it looks like he is looking right at you! The feathers on his shoulders and wings are amazing and the fanned out tail is so cool. I also like that you caught him calling with his mouth open. I like where he is in the picture as well.
