Ride 'em Cowboy!

I went to the local night rodeo with a few camera club members earlier this summer and tried (mostly unsuccessfully) to shoot the fast-moving events. (Not to mention I was shooting way outside my comfort zone again.) The lighting was horrible and I was at the dark end of the bleachers, and my 60D doesn't do well in low light conditions (anything over 400 ISO ushers in a lot of noise). So, I decided to try to mask the noise by using sepia tone, which suggests old time grainy film anyway  I also added a ragged frame to complete the "look." It was a learning experience and I have ideas for my next go round.

Canon 60D, 24-105 mm lens, handheld (impossible to use a tripod in this situation on a rickety wooden bleacher with people constantly moving about, causing vibrations)
ISO 2000 +1.7, f4 @ 1/320

You did well under the circumstances you describe. The sepia tone does give it an old time look. For me a little more space in front of the horse would be nice. Nice to have the front feet of the horse off the ground, but the shadow on half of the riders face I find distracting. Thanks for sharing.

Tough conditions to shoot! Given the difficulties, it turned out well. I like the sepia, old-look treatment. It works well with the subject.
