Very pretty John. You handled this scene in a masterful way. It's easy to capture a grand scenic vista sometimes when the scenery does most of the work, but in this scene, the photographer makes the difference and makes it works so very nicely. Absolutely great light too.

Lovely layers and lighting here, John. This does a fine job of capturing the transition from grasslands to badlands.

Unique view. I like it. Maybe wish there was something besides the gray in the sky.

I also wish for a better sky, but the comp and the layering vista is superb.
Sweet light and muted attractive muted color...

Thanks for the comments guys, the sky is not very dramatic as there was a fair amount of smoke and haze from the fires in Oregon and Washington. It was a lot worse later that week when I was farther west in the Big Horns.

Lovely composition, and the light on the terrain is wonderful. I think you did a nice job with this, given the sky conditions.

Speaking of smoke: CA has a few big fires going north and central state. The smoke is going every which way, depending on the wind--not very conducive to photography.

Nice image, John.

Hi John, I like this a lot! Excellent work with this composition and I love the light. As Mark mentioned the transition from grasslands to badlands is really nice and this has such a wonderful feel. :toast:

I really enjoy Badlands National John and this is one of the nicest images I've seen from it. Great comp, beautiful light and I like the inclusion of the grass in the image very much. Very fine work for my tastes.
