In southern Utah, we are in the middle of the normal Monsoon season; however, this year is hotter than ever. I've only seen raindrops, so this past week I went looking for weather. I ended up at Sand Hollow which is south of route 9 and very close to Sand Hollow state park. I found glorious skies and beautiful views. It looked as though it was going to pour any moment. Desert scenery reined along with a very well-cared for (and empty) golf course, fantastic views, a glorious sky and layers of rocks that reminded me of the Bee Hives at Valley of Fire in Nevada.
I took several images getting as close to the fantastic rock outcrops as I could.
This particular Image ratio is. 3:2
It was taken with a D700 and a 24-120mm lens. This setting was 30mm at f/8 with ISO of 100. I used manual exposure and spot metering. And the camera was hand held.
Thanks in advance for viewing and leaving your comments and critiques.
Best wishes
Carol

The image looks like it might be a blend of two files - sky and ground, seeing that the lighting pattern just doesn't seem to match. If you processed it this way for a reason, and/or if it's just my tired old eyes, ignore my post. Otherwise, you might want to revisit your post processing.
But I have my alien or 'surreal' landscape shades on for this, so it works for me Carol
Nicely composed frame and I like the brush down in front.
You might consider a B&W version, just a thought.
Beautiful view - Well done
I like the electric alien scape look of this. I'm assuming you were going for a surreal type of presentation. Very interesting and it holds my interest.
