'Pumpkinary'

So what do get when you cross pumpkin with a rosemary plant?
Why a 'Pumpkinary' of course
I took the opportunity this morning to shoot a pumpkin blossom that's intertwined in our rosemary plant. My first time growing them, the vines go everywhere..
In this shot there's also the added interest of a Solitary Bee down inside the blossom, and a Crab Spider at petals edge.
F/11, 1/400th, ISO 500, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8, 580EX flash with a soft-top for fill @ 9:55am & cloudy. Monopod for support.

Howard - Seems Quite Elementary  - not.

Very fine capture of the Pumpkin Flower with a bee and spidy. Amazing sense of scale there.

Lots going on in this one, Howard, but the pumpkin flower is big and bold and properly dominates the scene. I like the little crab spider. Looks to be lying in wait for something to come out of the flower center.

Nicely done, Howard. Great comp and DOF, and the two critters are definitely an added (but creepy, in the case of the spider) bonus. I like the backlit hairs on the stem.

Howard: Not sure I recall ever seeing a pumpkin blossom posted here before so this is a special treat. Like the party crashers as well. >=))>
