Too Big to Swallow?

12April2010 from a small boat at a side lagoon of the Napo River across from entry to the Napo of Sucusari Creek, Amazon Basin, northeastern Peru. This Amazon Kingfisher sat in approximately this position for at least 10 minutes during and after this photo was taken, and then we cruised out of the lagoon so I don't know if it is still sitting there. It was almost as if it was deliberating on what do about catching a fish that was too big for it to swallow. Intervening tree branches gave me no choice on the angle to take the photo.

That's quite a fish for that sized bird, very nice detail here Ronald, the larger image is showing some noise so I would run some noise reduction on the bg. It looks like you are starting to get caught up with your commenting. :toast:
