New Deliveries

I'm not sure if this says more about the publishers of these phone directories, the people who deliver them, or the people who live here, but it sure says something about people. Taken yesterday down the road a piece.

Here, we still get our mail and these directories delivered to our front door. They have almost no use anymore; digital directories are so available. I don't know what the situation there is, but since they are not really mail, the two options left for delivery are the front door, or where they were found. As the mail boxes are separate from the domiciles, this is obviously the choice made by those who deliver. The sad fact is that when the community is responsible for bringing them the rest of the way or disposing of them, No one really cares. Not their problem, there's no name on them and nobody wants them. Frankly, my feeling is that the deliverers are guilty of littering and the homeowners guilty of lack of community pride. The publishers are guilty of being way behind the times and probably just trying to stay alive.

It takes a photographer to think of making an image like this, and I'm glad you got the Pick for it. Love the way you phrased your comment. It compliments the image so well. And the photo, by itself, spoke as eloquently, before I read the comment. To me, that's why it deserved the Pick.
