Early Figwort

This odd little flower was found in my prairie restoration project. The open flower is about 4mm in diameter and the 2 petals look like perhaps the ears of a bear. For the final image, I cropped some material from the top and right side of the image and used the rubber stamp tool to remove some distracting stems along the right side. Pentax K5 IIs, Sigma 180mm f3.5 (1/80sec at f6.3, ISO 200), 20 image stack (Pmax), Topaz Details for sharpening and highlight adjustment, Levels................................Jim

Neat little flower, Jim. This shows well against the uniform green background.

I have never seen before this strange flower. It is a challenge for the imagination. Thanks for sharing Jim.
Take care.

Jim - Wonderful work on the processing. Love the fine hairs along the stem and the strong V formations leading to the flower. Thanks for the education once again.
