Hawk Fledge Flight

June 27, 2014 On the Andover-Newton Theological School campus in Newton Center, Massachusetts. While visiting my son's family, his wife mentioned a hawk nest on campus. I found it and several fledges doing what they do. This fellow graced me with a series of takeoff shots.

Nikon D4 Nikkor 600mm ISO500 1/1600 f/9 White Balance Auto RAW Taken with a Wimberley Gimbal on a tripod. Processed in Lightroom, Photoshop CC 2014, NIK and TK.

Please let me know if I have overlooked anything. :toast:

Looks like the light was a bit harsh, Patrick, but you caught the awkwardness of a fledgling flight very nicely.

As mentioned...the light is a bit harsh but we have to play the hand dealt. I like the play between the awkwardness of the flight and the very determined look in the eye. Well done Patrick.
