Good view of the sheep. Well taken, with no extraneous junk to distract the attention from the subject. Well composed and balanced. :toast:

Very nice capture of this big guy. I have driven the same road in YNP many times, but I never saw a Bighorn. You were very lucky to see one at all, as there are not that many in the park. To get a shot at one this close is special. You made the most of it. No real nits from me.

Hi Ron! Oh man, I'm a sucker for a good-looking bighorn, and this does not disappoint! First off, that is indeed a good-looking ram. More importantly, you did him justice in your capture! I particularly like that you caught his near leg lifting as he strides forward, and the slight head-turn is wonderful. I also love the lichen-covered rocks in the foreground, though wish his position didn't line up as it does with the biggest one here. I would echo the minor nit re: the ram being slightly too centered for my personal preference, but the emphasis is indeed on "slightly." I really like the tones and contrasting foreground snow in this image as well.

Really nice (and as I said in a different post of yours, welcome to NPN and the wildlife gallery in particular)!

Hi Ron,

This one nicely shows a bighorn in terrain that's almost "diagnostic" of the species - which is good. Both the head position and that of the front left leg work well and add to the shot. As others have said, it does feel a bit too centred (at least for my taste) - if this were mine I would have positioned the ram a little lower and to the right, giving it more room to climb into the frame (thus helping to give it a little more dimensionality and perceived "height" and simultaneously pulling it out of the middle of the frame).

Cheers...

Brad

If this is a crop, a little more space in front will make a nice improvement. I echo the positives others have mentioned regarding dynamic posture and slope.

I like this shot! I love photographing bighorns with my dad. I got a few pictures of rams in Yellowstone a couple years ago, but mostly we photograph them near our home. This guy is darker than most of the rams around here and I really like his colour.

I like how sharp the ram is and how bright his eye looks. You can sure see the rings in his horn! Nice picture!
