If you've ever tried this, you know just how frustrating it is. Most times you either completely miss, or end up with missing body parts. You can pull your hair out trying.. Oh yeah, I don't have any hair:biggrin:
Here the scene's pretty busy, so this title from my early days seemed to fit.

So turn the music on, view large, and "Run Through the Jungle" with me:cool:

F/14, 1/1600th, ISO 1250, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 + 1.4x ext, 580EX flash @ -3 & -1 exposure bias. 11:52am with light overcast & monopod for support.

Oh my gosh, this had to be a real challenge and perfect timing in the end. I love the look of the "glide slope" here so to speak. A very wonderful take on this quiet soft action of this butterfly, Excellent!!!....... :toast:

Beautiful capture, Howard. Really like the position of the Black ST as it glides through the flowers. Excellent position in the frame. Outstanding detail even for a stationary object let alone a BF in flight. Perfectly exposed via the natural light and fill flash. :toast: :toast:

Terrific catch, Howard, with the bf sharp with wings spread and a nicely colored background. The bf is also in perfect position. "Thought I heard a rumblin, calling to my name...." so is this where Satan cries, take aim?

Excellent catch, Howard - I can't imagine how tricky this must be. Wonderful flight pose and nice to sense the environment so well. Could not play the music - must try again. Fine image !!

Howard, I have spent the last few days trying to channel your spirit and, of course, make some passable macro shots. This is beyond good. Tack sharp and moving. Just incredible. John Fogarty could only wish he was this good. :toast: :toast:
