The picture was taken in the Kootenay National Park in Canada end of May.
The black bear was laying flat in the grass and feeding on the dandelion that he could reach.

Hi Reiner,

May is certainly the month for bears eating dandelions in the Kootenay (this is my "stomping ground" and it's predictable that each year in May Hwy 93 through Kootenay NP is "lined" with bears)! Good eye contact here...though the one eye seems to have some sort of damage around it. I like the low angle but find that the OOF dandelions in the foreground (especially in the lower left corner) are a bit distracting. On my monitors the bear has a fairly strong magenta cast to it...that's something that you might want to keep an eye out for during post-processing.

Thanks for sharing this one.

Cheers...

Brad

So adorable! I love it when they do this. Usually the bears I see are standing and walking while the eat along the way. But I have seen behaviour like this several times before. Unfortunately, last time I was close enough for pictures while it was happening, I only had my point and shoot. Glad you were able to get some images of him. And a really nice one at that! Great eye contact, and I love the low angle you got. He looks like a big bear! I kind of like the OOF dandelions at the bottom of the image. For me, I think they lead your eye to the bear eating the dandelions. Tells more of the story, IMO.
