Barrow's Goldeneye Juv.

Canon 1D-X, 500mm x 1.4 TC, braced in truck window
f11, 1/1000, ISO2500

The photo is as much for the dense bulrushes and cattails as the bird.

50% of full frame. Adjustments to Levels. Selective sharpening to bird.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

(This could be a juvenile Common Goldeneye, but that would pretty unusual in this pond. I can't tell juvie Common and Barrow's apart unless they are in flight or have their wings extended.)

Wonderful lines in this image, Jim. The bird works well as an accent point.

I really think these are tough shots to pull off Jim and it has just too much going on for my personal taste. I have tried this type of shot several times myself and have never been happy with my results either.
