I Broke It!

Hate it when that happens! From June 29th. It's been very busy around here and I just finally got to downloading some stuff I've taken off and on over the last few weeks. A fair amount of the images are Rufous hummingbirds and you'll notice a lot of wing blur as I don't use flash on them (I like blurred wings) and they were taken mostly in the early morning.

1Div, 500mm f4 ISL + 2.0 TC, Jobu Gimbal on RRS legs, f8, 1/640, iso 640, -1/3 stop exposure compensation, aperture priority, pattern metering. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Cropped to 11.9 MP from the original 16. Taken in the backyard on June 29th at 6:38 am.

Comments and criticisms are most welcome.

Thanks for looking,

Exquisite Dennis, lovely composition and rich colours, techs look good too. The larger version does the image justice. :toast:

Love the comp on this one Dennis. I really like the pedal in the hummers beak. Colors are also very pleasing. Great job getting that kind of sharpness out of that combo...the 2X TC with the older 500 f/4 IS is historically hard to get sharp images from. Really nice work.

Dennis,
I too love blurred wings with a still body. Glad I'm not alone. :) Love the title of this one. Beautiful background, stunning flower and the hummer is shining brightly. In a good way. Head and eye is tack sharp. Superb!

Just now saw this and what a wonderful hummer image. Nice job of getting this stop action on only 1/640 sec as I usually go for around 1/2000 for hummer images. Pose, background, flower and light all look very nice, way to cool.
