I believe this is a sickle-winged chat, but am surely not certain and open to other ideas. (Changed to Marico Flycatcher, which seems more likely, per Nate's input)

I can not help on the ID but this is a wonderful shot with the pose, perch, light and head turn, well done.

Sweet shot Sandy, great head turn and perch. I think this is most likely a Marico Flycatcher which is common there as a Sickle-winged Chat would be way out of range to be up in Etosha. :toast:

Excellent, Sandy. You've hit all the right licks on this shot. As for the ID, I haven't any idea, except it does look kind of like a flycatcher. :toast:

Hey Sandy,

This is real nice Sandy - love the simple composition and minimalism here, how clean the shot is, and the head turn works perfectly in the composition. Very well done, whatever the heck it is!

Cheers...

Great bird, comp and techs, Sandy. Any time you can get a flycatcher's vibrissae tack sharp you're dong well. :toast:

Love the perch and great detail Sandy. I might have photographed the same bird in 1996 when we lived over there for two years
