Here is another long exposure of the early morning ocean waves with a slightly different treatment. I dropped an orange filter on it and ran it through LR5 with some adjustments. Thanks to all for the comments on the previous post

Nikon D7100 12mm-24mm f4 @ 22mm on Gitzo
f/20
.5 seconds
ISO 200

Full Frame, LR5 adjustments

Pretty cool. I'm surprised @ 5 seconds you still had that much detail in the water. I would've thought it would be all blurred out.

Michael - the shutter speed was .5 seconds, or a half-second.

I think I like the first post slightly better. Perhaps because of the more uniform color. This one has some wild movement in it that is very appealing. Nice Luke.

I like the way you've captured the water movement and composition. Not sure about the processing : bit too cyan for me and there seems that the image lacks cleaness - ? noise other artefacts.

Lots of very cool looking motion in this one, Luke. I agree with Kah Kit that the cyan looks a bit strong but other than that I quite like this!

Water motion is great, but the color just too far off for me. More artsy than landscape for me.

I lowered the cyan in PS and agree that it looks better. Thank you for the comments!

Nice wave action here Luke. I like the colors in your previous post better, since this one is just too cyan for my tastes.

I like the composition and the wave action a lot., works really well for me. I just find the color to be a bit off - too much cyan as mentioned by others.

Pretty cool, but the noise in the sky is a deal breaker for me.

I'm with Gary. Love the action, but preferred the more uniform color of the prior.

I too think the moment is very cool and has a lot of potential. But I too am distracted by the intensity of unnatural color. I think this certainly boarders on photo art if not has gone over the boundary. That is not to say that all photography isn't art. It is.

I do have a question. Are you on a calibrated monitor? I ask, because I want to know if I am actually seeing what you intended fairly accurately.

Mark,

You bring up an excellent point. Looking at it on my work computer it is very cyan - while my home computer it looks more like what I was envisioning. I recently had a computer problem and I was playing around with my displays so something may have been off. Thank you for mentioning this and thanks to all for taking the time to provide feedback.

This is quite dramatic, John. Aside from the color issues already mentioned, which I also see, I like this a lot.

Are you on a calibrated monitor? Like, are you using Spyder 4 Elite or Pro, or X Rite color Munkie?
