This one from the 2009 files. Some years ago I was scouting for birds out in Anza Borrego with Kwan Choo when we found a number of Sora Rails in a small riparian area. I wouldn't expect to find them there, but we did. We set up a blind and for a few days shot this family coming in to catch insects and polliwogs.

I'm going back out there next week to see if they're still around.

Great look at this challenging species Charlie. Don't see these guys out in the open too much.The details and the techs look great. Nice colors too.

I remember this well, Charlie! It really was amazing to find this species in the middle of the desert, and that they were really not that shy. Was it really that long ago?
