Snakeskin Iridescence #2

Here's a close up look at more of that shed snakeskin capturing the iridescence that appears at very specific angles when looking at the belly region. I'm fascinated that the skin on the back and sides doesn't show this iridescence. (5D3, 100mm macro L, 1/125s, f/13, iso 200, tripod)

Very interesting Mark, thanks for sharing. Indeed strange that it's only iridescent at the belly, would be interesting to know why!

I've been meaning to find a small static subject, with this kind of interest myself Mark.
Intend to use the 1.4x plus a 20mm extension ring to get down small if I can..
Great interest, subject matter, and the iridescence I see is very cool

Wouldn't have known what this was, Mark ( but then there aren't many snakes around here !! ). The shades you've got in the iridescence are beautifully subtle. This does indeed make for a nice abstract composition.

Mark:

Fascinating rainbow pattern! A bonus of doing nature photography is learning about nature itself. Thanks for sharing this.

Hi mark :wavey: If i had skin like that, i would keep on wearing it  Seriously. this is a fine composition, with good symmetrical lines.. you captured the detail and the iridescent color beautifully...
