What a difference a day makes. My brother and I were here the day before and I shot plenty of verticals of this. The rhodies were in full splendor. When I decided to try a horizontal comp, the flowers had started to fade.

I like this composition, and the DOF works well, but for me the water may be a bit blue. Some camera settings would be interesting to see.

You're absolutely right, Ronald. Just a personal preference. This was I think "daylight" white balance. I tried "cloudy" and "shade" but they just made the flowers yellow

Mike - Lovely scene. I like how the slow flowing water is bracketed by Rhodies on either side.

Michael:
Another beautiful garden scene. For me the water feature holds a lot of interest with the reflection of the sky.

Another very nice gardenscape, Michael. I like the way you used the white azelea to anchor the foreground. Excellent detail near to far.

The water play is a good transition for the two colors. I wouldn't change the WB, but desaturating the right side whites of cyan/blue should warm it without going to yellow. At the same time, levels to drop the whites a bit for detail might also help.

Michael: I really like your comp and the light in the BG. Good choice on the SS for the water. 2 thumbs up. >=))>

Beautifully composed, Michael ! The lighting on the softly captured water is delightful but it's the perspective leading the eye across the water which makes this so nice for me
