I've just got too many zinnias planted this year, and rather close together as well.. So it's very hard to get the shot, without the color from and/or other flowers influencing the shot many times.
So I ask you to embrace the color, it's what I do
F/11, 1/800th, ISO 640, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 + 1.4x ext and fill using a monopod for support. Queen Butterfly shot on Independence Day weekend.

You really nailed this one, Howard. Very beautiful subject and a real nice bg. I like the red zinnia in the LRC.

OK, I embraced the color, and I'm all the better for doing it. I think I like the explosion of color in this one even more than version 1. Excellent Howard, maybe one of the best BF images I've seen in a long time.

Howard:
I think the added color adds a lot to the image and this is a wonderful BF image. Actually this is not colorful enough compared with our acid induced creations for our exhibition

Vivid colors and nice background, Howard. The head and antennas stand out from the OOF pink patch. Excellent butterfly image!

Looks great to me, Howard. I sure don't mind the extra flowers and they're not pulling attention from that lovely butterfly.
