Nicely composed, Eva, with a delightful rendering of the textures at the petal edges. I wonder if the composition might be a touch stronger if the petal at the R was not there but but I do appreciate that its shadow gives extra depth and ton to the image, so I'm taking a rain check on that one !!

I like the proportions of the frame, and the color and texture very much, I just am not sure about the inclusion of the petal on the RHS. It's a real eye-grabber.

Eva - Good to see you posting in Flora. Have admired your landscape work over the years.

My thoughts mirror what Phil said. I am also wondering if this would make for a better abstract if the petal forming that triangle in the lower left is cropped off.

Heh, Eva, guess I'm not the only stranger posting to this gallery this weekend. I really like the strong sharp curve of the orchid petal and your use of selective focus. Nicely done.

Love the curves and texture showing through in the petals. I am a little unsure of the shadow along the RHS though but this is an abstract and so I guess anything goes.
