Westminster Bridge

I was down in London in February to see the Landscape Photographer of the Year exhibition, which I was lucky enough to have had my Reedflection photograph being exhibited. Whilst there I tried to grab a few traffic trail shots of Westminster looking down towards The Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, not something I have really tried before.

I am quite pleased with this one but I would appreciate your feedback.

D700, Nikon 16-35mm, 10 secs, F/14, iso 200.

Coincidentally, my photo just happened to be displayed above one of Ian Camerons fantastic photo's. Ian, if you see this your photo looked amazing.

Photo taken in the exhibition of my Reedflection photo and Ian Camerons photo below. Taken with my mobile phone, sorry about the poor quality.

Great lines..and the blue/green colors…must have been a bus w/interior lights or something. Nice catch.. These older arched bridges don’t jiggle every time a big rumbling load drives by… this is solid and detailed-sharp. Well done.

I am quite pleased with this one

You should be Gary. It's excellent. I really like this one a lot. Good to see it was also one of your first of this type of shots too. I've had a few experimentals as of late too that surprised me.

Congrats to both you and Ian for your images being featured at the program there in London also. :wavey:

Congrats on the weekly pick Gary! I think the traffic is on the wrong side of the road though..... :-)

Have you ever met up with Ian C? A must do I think if you have not. You are so close unlike me in the USA. I have personally seen the emotion he displays in his images as he takes them. Definitely inspiring.

Thanks again folks, I am delighted with the WP.

Eva, I have never met Ian but I'm sure our paths will cross one day. I hope so anyway.

Gary.

Nicely done, Gary. I've shot this scene before, but didn't have this kind of success. In addition to the moon, I think what sets this apart is the various colors in the light blurs. They really give it some pop and happen to echo the extra colorful Big Ben as well.

Gary,
Congratulations for this honor in POP. It is a stunning image. I forwarded it to a photographer friend of mine who has recently developed a passion for trains. (I recently went with him and unwittingly set up my tripod too close to the tracks. I narrowly averted being hit myself and having a train clip my equipment. Smart, huh?) Thanks for sharing this image. :toast: :toast:
